Crossroads

I was thinking today about those times in life when we come to a crossroad. It happens to us all at one time or another and to different degrees. Do you go this way or that way? What factors contribute to the choices you make? Of course, we all know that hindsight is 20/20.

Sometimes the choice you make is personal and sometimes your choice will affect more than just yourself. The point is, coming to a crossroad is not usually easy. Many times it comes down to the choice between what is easy and what is right. I have been here many times throughout my life. As I look back on the paths I chose, I can see clearly which road was the better choice. Sometimes I took it and sometimes I didn't. I am sure most of you have been there too. How much simpler life would be if we could see where the road leads on the path we choose. But the thing is, those roads we chose have shaped who we are and what we have in our lives. When I look back on the times I chose the wrong road, I have to stop myself and think about what I have because of that choice instead of what I might have missed. Because, after all, we will never really know where that other road would have truly led. I am choosing now to view the times when I stood at the crossroad as making the best choice I could have at the time. And enjoy what I gained instead of what I might have lost. Godspeed, my friends.

Robert Frost said it best: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.
